Last Update: 12.22.02 Seattle is cool!

At Bush Garden in the international district last night, the crowd couldn't get enough of my singing, and my cry of: "Who will join me when your Seattle Seahawks take the Superbowl in 2003?"

Yikes! The first Starbucks ever is here in Seattle! In Pike Place. Yuck! Ironically, it's being closed down. Probably to make way for the next big thing.
WELCOME TO MY SITE! Lots of the links don't work yet, but don't worry, they'll be up soon!

Observations on Seattle:

1. Everyone is nicer here than in LA.

2. More people are dressed here like they are going to camping or hunting than in LA.

3. I don't feel the need to walk around at night with my keys in hand ready to stab someone in the eye.

4. Whoever planned out the city streets, had a one way street fetish, and is a sick mofo.

Hello Children of the Wind,

HI Everyone!

Check me out! I am in Seattle having a great and cool mellow time. My hosts Zack and Shinobu have been excellent! They are vegetarian like myself, so we don't have the squabbles that I normally experience with my meat eating friends (ie "Oh too bad you don't eat meat, or I'd take you to the Prime rib place. Why don't you eat meat anyway?"). Shinobu just made an excellent lunch, tofu-urky and Boca burger patties nestled between toasted sub bread with lettuce, mustard, tomatoes-- the works!

I also flipped off my first Seattle-ite. This man/creature whistled to me from his car when we were walking around the Space Needle the other day and started shifting his tongue around as if that was supposed to entice me. And BAM! My finger was up!

I have met up with two of my internet friends here. Filmmaker Wes Kim and acting guy Roger Tang. Wes' wife makes soap, so me and Shinobu hung out at his place the other night perusing her fine selection of handmade soap. It has inspired me to take a soapmaking, candlemaking, or some kind of crafty class when I get back to LA. They have a cute cat named Zazoo who drools all over the place when you pet her. So cute. I think I am allergic to cats if I have too much saliva on me because I was scratching my face all night where Zazoo drooled on me. Tonight, I am babysitting Wes' sons so that he can have a nice night out with his wife and I can satisfy my latent maternal instincts.

We saw Sandra Tsing Loh's "Sugar Plum Fairy" at the Seattle rep. We got tickets for $10. I have never seen her perform before. It's pretty cool that she is a mother of two and has managed to put together a pretty successful career while keeping up a family life. I counted four people of color in the theater. Including Sandra makes five. The rest of the over 200 seats were filled with old white folk! Too bad. But I can see from her show why she has a rep for scoring mostly "white audiences".

Roger Tang scored us tickets to see a free improv show called the "Improvised Christmas Carol" Friday night-- it was pretty cool. I can't believe how many people they packed into an improv show. There had to be at least 200 people there-- for an improv show! You don't see that in LA! It's nice being in a town where not everyone is an actor. Roger also gave me Adobe Golive to put in Shinobu's laptop, so that I can update my site from here!

It's cold here, but I like it. I like being able to just relax. I do miss my DSL though. Dial up sucks! We rented movies the other night: Annie Sprinkle's "Herstory of Porn", "Foxfire" (with Jenny Shimizu), "Roger and Me", and "Fast, Cheap and Out of Control". The Annie Sprinkle movie was such garbage, way overrated and totally gross. I thought it would be enlightening in a performance art way. But like any porn from the 70's-- it was like a horror movie. Yuck! Pube-city! Foxfire was so cool. Jenny Shimizu was so cool and gorgeous. She has reinspired me to want to shave my head again.

I got some good news from here-- I will be performing my solo "Auction" in the 15 minutes of Fem series in 2003.

I went with Roger to Bush Garden last night! WOW! it was so much fun! I like this town, as far as karaoke goes. I sang over 10 songs. The best was when I got the whole crowd going, hugging and singing for peace with Bette Midler's "From a Distance."

need to get out of the house!

See you soon,

Kristina

UNTIL NEXT TIME SUCKAS!!!!!
