12.14.03-- Too cool for my own good.

I have lots of funny/sad/desperate stories from this past week. My rent is due tomorrow and I still am scraping it together. I am this (Kristina makes a motion of her thumb and second finger pushed together) close to selling my soul up on ebay. I have already whored out my people by putting this kimono up for bid and trying to bank the same exploitative/ orientalist hype of the Cheryl Rave Casting call.

Great. Now everyone has the link to all my ebay auctions. A life I intended to keep secret from all of you. But my big mouth opened, and now you know my ebay identity and can follow my auctions. If you decide to spy on my auctions from here on out, let me warn you in advance that most of the stuff I sell is stuff somebody gave me that they didn't want anymore. OK?!?!

I also sold some old playboy magazines via craigslist to some guy who lives in the valley and is trying to collect every issue there ever was. I made him meet me outside and across the street from my apartment. He gave me $13, I gave him 6 playboy magazines.

Yes, my friends. I have become a smut peddler.

I added up some numbers, so friends don't be worried about me. I should have it together by tomorrow. No problem. But whoo! I am cutting it close!

This message is purely promotional but I keep it fun. Please read on.

First off, won't you consider giving the gift of anger for Christmas?

The shirts from my bigbadchinesemama.com site are the perfect way to say "I love you!". Click below.

And don't forget. Fannie Wong postcards are the nicest way to say "I care" this Holiday Season. And they are non denominational. Paypal $2 or more to wongster@labridge.com and let Fannie know who to send the card to and what to say on it!

And if you have already bought the two above I mentioned. Or were not interested, please consider buying a domain name to support TeAda Productions!

Some of you may know that my solo show "Free?" was recently added to the touring roster of TeAda Productions. This was a huge milestone for me as an artist. The tough thing is that TeAda along with every other arts non-profit in town (or, in the state) is facing severe funding cuts. So we are struggling to survive, let alone tour our artists.

So? To be proactive, we are trying a domain name fundraiser for the month of DECEMBER. We get 33% profit on all the new domains bought through the following link....

http://www.serversnap.com/home/TEADA

So, please consider buying a domain name for yourself or friend.

The funds raised will help support TeAa's multi-cultural programming, arts education outreach and touring programs. TeAda's website is here...http://teada.org/

and great, one last announcement...

HELP BINDLESTIFF STUDIOS IN SF!

Bindlestiff is a space for Pilipino Americans to do amazing art. I saw a show there once and it was awesome. Now they need this insane amount of money to stay alive or they will shut down. And they need it by December 15th! That's soon!!!!

Here is the info..

Dear friends...

There are tons of things happenning at the theater creativley,(what else is new), but today we find ourselves in a very different dynamic. This is a plea from the building itself.

Bindlestiff's future existence is in jeopardy. $11,500.00 needs to be raised by December 15th. If this doesn't happen, there is a potential for SF redev to pull their commitment to the construction of the future space.

This is the unfortunate position we're currently in. We're all connected to each other in large part because of the existence of this space. Without it, we'll still be artist for sure, but without a base to concentrate the collective energies. THIS IS A CALL TO ALL OF THE ARTISTS, PATRONS, AND ANYONE WHO'S EVER EXCHANGED ENERGY WITH THE SPACE.

This is a black and white issue. BINDLESTIFF WILL BE CLOSED if something doesn't happen. If you've reserved any participation for the time 'when it mattered,' it matters now. If we don't raise this money, the effort for physical space will be nullified.

Before you decide, understand that Bindlestiff is now an institution that's been talked about world wide. There are other fil-am centered artistic efforts out there, BUT THEY DON'T HAVE A SPACE.

Over the next couple months, various performances and events have been scheduled to help raise the money. If you wish to help out or plan an event, please contact Mark Marking (markmarking@yahoo.com), Wernher Goff (swornin@yahoo.com), or Siwaraya Rochanahusdin (bouncebak@hotmail.com).

If you wish to make a donation to Bindlestiff, please send them to:

Bindlestiff Studio
1072 Folsom Street, PMB 470
San Francisco, CA 94103

Cash and check donations are accepted (remember to take proper precautions when sending cash donations). Please make checks payable to 'Bindlestiff Studio.' Bindlestiff Studio is a non-profit organization (i.e., yes, donations are tax deductible). Tax ID information will be sent upon request.

Check in here and on the main events page, as new shows are being added all the time. We look forward to seeing you all at the shows.

NEVER GIVE UP!

If Bindlestiff gets $100 from people who tell me that I sent them there. Or if 10 domains are registered from people who tell me I got them to do it, then I promise to put a very embarassing picture on my website in the next month!

Ahhh... for the love of art!

Thanks everyone!

Kristina
