4.26.04--HOT

This is awful. I passed out in my living room today for an hour and I wasn't even tired-- just really, really HOT. I woke up in a pool of sweat.

I've been busy trying to find a part time job, applying for different residencies and grants and blah blah blah, and I am in the running for three really ideal part time jobs. By ideal, I mean, that they are flexible enough jobs and I can learn from them. "Learning and Earning"-- that's my motto. One that I really want has health benefits. I've never been so excited to see a dentist before! I can't wait. I bet my teeth are already all rotten because I haven't seen a dentist in so long.

I hope I get either one or all three of these jobs. I already know what I will do when I get a job-- pay bills, buy a surfboard, wetsuit, and buy new summer clothes to wear in this HEAT and pretend that I live the LA life.

I have three fans and an AC going off at once, man, I can't take it, it's too hot. I'm drinking juice to stay cool.

It's API Heritage Month and I have been getting all sorts of last minute requests to perform-- YES! This is a good thing! Keep them coming! Up next for me is a performance at the big cheese REDCAT under the Walt Disney Concert Hall. And also, I am going to UC San Diego and doing a performance on their campus! Tomorrow I go to Pomona for a show!

I was at the gym and saw a hot dog commercial-- but I wasn't on it! There were two more spots they shot. I am hoping I am on one of those. When I was on the elliptical trainer I made a prayer to god that went like this:

Dear God,

I know I don't talk to you that often, or even at all. And as I sweat like a pig on this elliptical trainer, I need to ask that you please please make sure that I don't get cut out of the hot dog commercial. You see, Mayor Hahn is going to take away my grant (his proposed budget cuts for the Cultural Affairs Department will shrink it from 11 to 8 million-- my grant won't survive that cut!) and I really need my residuals now. I've been a good girl, I haven't killed anyone (though BUSH has been on my hitlist for some time, I haven't acted on it) and I try to do my best to not swear in your name.

Please God, please make sure I am on that commercial, and will you please air it all over the place for several years, and after that turn it into a wild spot, and then broadcast it on the internet. Then please will you re-air it 50 years from now so that I get holding fees?

And also, please help make the 3 minutes I have left on this machine go faster.

Love,

Kristina

Honest, that was my real prayer I made.

Anyway, I reclaimed my youth last weekend when I went to see my friends ill again play. It was awesome. I felt so young again. It was an underground hip hop party. We had to park and take a van to this secret downtown location. Just like in my youth. I think before I get any older, I will go to more of those parties.

Also, if you see this movie called, THE GIRL NEXT DOOR, I am in the scholarship dinner scene and apparently totally visible. I am going to get it on DVD and add it to my site with the new ER clips.

see you!
